North Plainfield - Vera Louise Forbes, 61, died Friday, April 29, 2016 at JFK Medical Center in Edison.
Born in New York, Vera resided in Brooklyn, Hampton, VA and Edison before settling to North Plainfield in 1998.
Vera enjoyed arts and crafts and worked as a Special Education Teacher in Brooklyn for a short period of time.
Surviving are her husband, John Christopher Forbes of Plainfield; three daughters, Nicole Forbes of Denver, CO, Naeelah and Natasha Forbes of North Plainfield; five siblings, Nafeesa Bahar and Carletta Reid of Georgia , Vanessa Phillips of Kentucky, Carl Gray of Hampton, VA and Bryan Gray of Newburgh, NY; nieces and nephews, Sajda Henson, Rasheeda Garza, Timothy & Elijah Phillips, Christopher Reid, Bryce and Chad Gray.
She will also be missed by her two grandchildren, KJ & Michaela.
Visitation will be held on Friday, May 6, 2016 from 5-8PM in the McCriskin - Gustafson Home For Funerals, 2425 Plainfield Avenue South Plainfield NJ 07080. Funeral services will begin at 7:30PM.
Cremation will follow privately
