Middlesex, NJ Lucjan Bartkowski, 88, entered into eternal life at his home surrounded by his loving family in the early hours of Friday morning, February 21, 2014. Born in Lonki, Poland, he lived in England until 1958 and has been a resident of the borough since 1961.He served in the Polish Army where he was stationed in England. In 1990, Lucjan retired from Egan Machinery in Somerville where he spent twenty-four dedicated years as a machinist. Prior to, he worked for Polusso Construction.A devoted father, Lucjan raised his two sons and loved them unconditionally. He is predeceased by a brother Joseph, sister Bronisyrwa and step-brother Henry Robeczewski.Lucjan leaves behind his loving sons; Lucjan A. and his wife Laura of Valrico, Florida and Stephen of Middlesex. He will be missed by his three adored grandchildren; Lucjan III, Richard and Jessica and by his cherished great-granddaughter Emma Elizabeth.Visitation will take place from 2:00 pm until 6:00 pm in the Middlesex Funeral Home, 528 Bound Brook Road, Middlesex, NJ 08846 on Sunday, March 2, 2014. On Monday, March 3, 2014, family and friends are invited to gather directly at Our Lady of Mount Virgin Parish in Middlesex for a 9:30 am Mass of Christian Burial. Mausoleum entombment will follow at Resurrection Burial Park in Piscataway. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions sent to the American Cancer Society, P.O. Box 22718, Oklahoma City, OK 73123 would be appreciated.
