Joseph W. Spitzer, 84, of Piscataway, passed away Saturday Oct. 19 in a nearby nursing home. Born in Hackensack, N.J., Mr. Spitzer was a truck driver, factory worker and machinist who moved to Piscataway in 1959.He proudly served his country in the National Guard and then the U.S. Army during the Korean War in the 1950s. He was a member of the Middlesex, N.J. American Legion Post 306; the Piscataway Senior Citizens; and the Tri-County Seniors.He was predeceased by his loving wife Grace Gallo Spitzer; and parents Joseph Julius Spitzer and Lilian Meyerer Spitzer. Surviving are his daughter Lesley Spitzer of Edison, N.J.; his son Bruce and grandson Grayson Spitzer of Hopkinton, Mass.; brother Roger Suits of Edison, N.J.; brother Donald Suits of Roseville, Calif.; and sister Carol Suits Paulson of SE Port Orchard, Wash.Church service is at Our Lady of Fatima, Piscataway, 11 a.m. Tuesday; graveside service at Resurrection Burial Park in Piscataway, Thursday at 11 a.m.
