Frances Teresa Petoia, 91, of Barnegat passed away at home on Monday, December 08, 2014. Born on December 8, 1923 in Newark to Ignazio and Nicoletta (Sellaro) Filippone, she lived in Piscataway for 46 years before moving to Barnegat in 2006.Mrs. Petoia was an assembly worker for 20 years at the Burrough's Corp. in Warren, NJ prior to working as a server in cafeterias for the Piscataway Board of Education for 12 years. Frances was a communicant at the Our Lady of Fatima Church in Piscataway. She enjoyed knitting and crocheting, but devoted her life to loving and caring for her family.Mrs. Petoia was predeceased by her beloved husband, Raymond Joseph Petoia, Sr. in 1990, she is survived by her loving children; Gerald M. Petoia and his wife Robin of Parker, CO, Raymond Joseph Petoia, Jr. and his wife Allyson of Asbury, NJ, Anthony Petoia and his wife Manuela of Piscataway, Mary Mastropole and her husband Anthony of Barnegat, NJ and Maureen Ventola and her husband Nicholas of Wayside, NJ, her 14 cherished grandchildren and 12 treasured great-grandchildren. Frances is also survived by her two beloved sisters, Edith Beninate of Salinas, CA and Leonora Vaccaro of Staten Island, NY.Visitation will be on Thursday, Dec. 11th from 4 pm to 8 pm at the Piscataway Funeral Home, 18 Stelton Rd., Piscataway, NJ. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday at 10 am at Our Lady of Fatima Church in Piscataway. Her entombment will follow in Lake Nelson Memorial Park Mausoleum in Piscataway.
