Bridgewater, NJ - Erika (Schreiner) Peckhardt, 88 passed away peacefully on Monday, January 20, 2014 at the rehab of River's Edge in Raritan. Born in Vienna, Austria, she settled to the United States in 1954. She lived in Hillside and Union before settling in Bridgewater in 1996.Erika was a clerical worker in Austria and a self-employed housekeeper when she came to the United States. She loved classical music, traveling to Austria, and spending time with family and friends talking about "The Old Country". She also enjoyed watching her grandchildren perform.Erika was predeceased by her husband Rudolf who passed suddenly on December 27, 2013. She leaves behind a son Peter Peckhardt and his wife Sandy of Middlesex and two cherished grandchildren, Christofer and Erika.Visitation will be held in the Middlesex Funeral Home, 528 Bound Brook Road, Middlesex, NJ 08846 on Friday, January 24, 2014 from 6:00 pm until 9:00 pm. There will be additional visitation in the funeral home on Saturday January 24, 2014 from 9:30-10:00 am with burial to follow at Hollywood Memorial Park in Union.
