Obituary of Conroy Newton Smith

Conroy Newton Smith, 59, of Middlesex, passed away peacefully on December 15, 2017 at Robert Wood Johnson University Medical Center, Somerset in Somerville.
Born in Lucea Hanover, Jamaica he was raised in Brooklyn, New York and went on to proudly serve in the United States Army from 1981-1987.
After his honorable discharge, Mr. Smith went on to graduate from Pratt University in New York with a Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering. He has an expansive work experience which included working for ARINC on high clearance projects, Nextel Sprint, and even taught in the New York City Public school system for 3 years. He spent most of his engineering career with New York City -Department of Information Telecommunication & Technology as a RF Engineer/FCC Licensing Manager where he has been working for the past 15 years.
Conroy enjoyed the quality time spent with his family and friends, especially his children, and will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
He was preceded in death by his father, Evelyn Spencer Smith, and his sister Ruth Cecile Martin nee Smith.
Surviving are his loving mother, Claris M. Smith nee Green, his beloved wife Tanya Smith nee Foster, his children Sarianna Smith, Shaneel Cole, and Travis Smith, his dear siblings Dorett Smith, Peter Smith, and Dean Smith, as well as his many extended family, friends, and colleagues.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, December 23, 2017 from 8:00am to 10:00am at the Middlesex Funeral Home,528 Bound Brook Road, Middlesex.
Funeral services will begin at 10:00AM at the funeral home.
Interment will follow at Hillside Cemetery, Scotch Plains.
