Middlesex, NJ - Fred Caruso, 93, passed away on Friday, December 2, 2016 at Brookdale Voorhees Senior Living in Voorhees. Born and raised in Middlesex, Fred has been a lifelong resident of Middlesex. He was honorably discharged from the United States Navy after faithfully serving during World War II. July of 1985, after many years of dedicated service, Fred retired as a machinist from Johnson & Johnson in New Brunswick. Later in life, he worked for many years at Middlesex Funeral Home as a doorman and driver for funerals. He was very active at Our Lady of Mount Virgin Parish where he served as an usher. He enjoyed golfing, fishing, doing yardwork and loved taking trips to the casino's with his wife Stephanie. Fred belonged to the Middlesex American Legion Post 306, Knights of Columbus Council #12700, and was a life member of the Thomas J. Kavanaugh VFW Post 2290 in Manville. Predeceased by his parents Charles and Maria (Arpe) Caruso, Fred leaves behind his devoted wife of sixty-eight years Stephanie and their loving daughter Janet. Visitation will take place in Middlesex Funeral Home, 528 Bound Brook Road, Middlesex, NJ 08846 on Wednesday, December 7, 2016 from 9:30 am until an 11:00 am prayer service. Mausoleum entombment will follow in the Twelve Apostles Mausoleum located within Resurrection Burial Park in Piscataway. Memorial Donations sent to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis TN 38105 would be appreciated.
