Obituary of James J. Britt

Manville, NJ - James J. (McLaughlin) Britt, 50, passed away suddenly on September 20, 2016 at Virginia General Hospital in Virginia Beach, VA. Born in New Brunswick, Jim grew up in the Fords section of Woodbridge prior to settling to Manville about fifteen years ago. Jim worked formerly as a maintenance worker with the township of Montgomery. An avid outdoorsman, having a love for fishing, swimming, and hunting, Jim also enjoyed the NY Jets and the NY Mets. He was a proud member and bartender of the Thomas J. Kavanaugh VFW Post #2290 in Manville, member of the Dunellen American Legion Post #119 and a former member of the Bound Brook Moose Lodge and Eagles Club in Somerville. Jim is predeceased by his parents Manuel and Geraldine (Murray) Britt. He is survived by his loving family; wife Frances (Johnson) Britt of Manville, four step-children; Eugene Johnson, Teresa Schultz, Frank Allen and Joseph Allen, eleven grandchildren and eight siblings as well as many extended family and friends. Visitation will take place on Saturday, October 1, 2016 from 12:00 pm - 3:00 pm at Middlesex Funeral Home, 528 Bound Brook Road, Middlesex, NJ 08846 with cremation to be held privately.
