Janet C. Metz, 82, passed away on Wednesday, April 12, 2017 at Bartley Healthcare in Jackson, NJ. Born and raised in the Bronx NYC, Mrs. Metz lived in Piscataway for fifty-five years before moving to Jackson in 2014. Janet worked as an administrative assistant for Rutgers University for twenty-five years before retiring in 2001. She was a Deacon at the First Presbyterian Church of Dunellen and she enjoyed many travels with her twin sister Joan and spending time with her family and friends. Janet was predeceased by her parents, Charles and Florence Tippett of New York City, and her sisters Carol Stewart of Fords and Joan Reinhardt of Nanuet NY. Mrs. Metz is survived by her three sons; John Metz, and his wife Donna of Jackson NJ; Glenn Metz and his wife Barbara of Bath, PA, and Douglas Metz and his wife Lisa of Manville, NJ. She is also survived by eight grandchildren; Allison Holeman and her husband Kyle , Adam Metz, Brian Metz and his wife Lenora, Rebecca Haran , Laura Metz, Hunter Metz, Kayla Metz, and Trevor Metz, and two great-grandchildren Zachary and Addison Metz. Visitation will take place on Monday, April 17, 2017 from 5-9pm at South Plainfield Funeral Home, 2456 Plainfield Avenue, South Plainfield, NJ 07080. On Tuesday, April 18, 2017, relatives and friends are invited to gather directly at the First Presbyterian Church of Dunellen, 218 Dunellen Avenue, Dunellen, NJ 08812 for a 10:00 am church service. A 1:00 pm graveside service will follow at Kensico Cemetery in Valhalla, NY.
