Obituary of Dorothy E. Owens

Dorothy E. Owens, 84, passed away April 5, 2015 at the Somerset Medical Center. Born in Plainfield, she graduated Metuchen High School and has resided most of her life in Piscataway. Dorothy enjoyed softball and bowling, but her favorite time was spent with her family, especially with her grandchildren. She was a loving Wife, Mother, Grandmother and Great-Grandmother. Mrs. Owens was predeceased by her daughter Sharon, her son John, her grandson jimmy and her brother William. Surviving are her loving husband of 61 years, Mr. Evan J. Owens; her daughters, Debbie Valle, Shirley Leone, Gale Owens and Terry Mehlenbeck; her sister Shirley Ide and many cherished grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held Thursday at the Piscataway Funeral Home, 18 Stelton Rd., Piscataway, NJ 08854 with a 4:00 to 7:00 pm visitation and closing with a 7:00 pm prayer service. Committal will be private.
