Old Bridge - John S. House, 84, passed away Friday, April 1, 2016. He is now in the presence of His Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. He was born February 17, 1932 in Springfield, MA to his late parents Earl and Helen House. John resided in South Plainfield and North Plainfield before settling to Manalapan. John proudly served our Country in the United States Navy during the Korean War. He went on to work for Miller & Chitty in Kenilworth as a boiler technician for over forty years. He served at the Evangel Church in Scotch Plains and Faith Fellowship in Sayerville. John had an incredible love for God and he enjoyed spending time with his family, friends and beloved pug, Sammy. John was predeceased by his wife, Sophie and his siblings, William House and Barbara Bradley. Surviving are his step-daughter, Elizabeth "Becky" DeMarco Banks and her husband John of Old Bridge, four children, Debra Loss, Charles House, Karen Zavali and Andrew House; ten grandchildren; Jennifer, Jesse, Alicia, Chris, Matt, Daniel, Diane, Guy, Lauren and Zachariah, four great grandchildren; Isaiah, Sophia, Nicole and Nathaniel and two sisters, Jane Mack and Peggy Wilcox of Massachusetts. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday April 5, 2016 at 11AM in South Plainfield Funeral Home, 2456 Plainfield Avenue, South Plainfield, NJ 07080 followed by interment in Hillside Cemetery, Scotch Plains. Family and friends may attend visitation on Monday from 5-8PM in the funeral home.
