Obituary of Samuel Oliver

Samuel Oliver, 89, of Bound Brook, passed away peacefully on May 1, 2017 at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital in New Brunswick.
Born in New Brunswick to the late Samuel and Angeline Oliveri, he was raised in Franklin Park. Samuel went on to proudly serve his country in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War. He married the late Mary Figel in 1948 and settled in Bound Brook where they raised their family. Samuel was a Sales Manager with the former Waldren Harding in Somerset for 34 years before his retirement.
Mr. Oliver was a communicant of St. Mary of Czestochowa Church in Bound Brook where he served as an usher. He was a member of the American Legion Mt. Carmel, Bound Brook Post 63. Sam enjoyed golfing and horse racing, most of all, he enjoyed the quality time spent with his family, especially his grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Mary Figel Oliver in 2006.
Surviving are his loving children, Joanne Pappas and husband Paul, John Oliver and wife Jodi, his cherished grandchildren, Paul, John Robert and wife Christine, Samantha, and Amanda, his great grandson Anthony, his dear sister Rose Perrino, as well as his extended family and friends.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, May 4, 2017 from 4:00 to 8:00PM at the Middlesex Funeral Home, 528 Bound Brook Road, Middlesex.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00am on Friday, May 5, 2017 at St. Mary of Chestochowa Church, 201 Vossler Avenue, Bound Brook.
Interment will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery, Bridgewater.
