Middlesex, NJ - Kathleen W. "Kay" McBride, 94, died on Tuesday, April 21, 2015 at the NJ Eastern Star Nursing Home in Bridgewater. Born in Wilkes-Barre, PA to her late parents John and Catherine (Shields) Wilverding, Kay lived in Sugar Notch, PA and Plainfield before moving to Middlesex with her husband in 1946.
In 1988, Kay retired from the Rutgers Alexander Library where she worked for fifteen years. A devoted parishioner of Our Lady of Mount Virgin Parish in Middlesex since 1947, she was very active with church and OLMV school functions in addition to the church seniors, their home bound group and the Altar Rosary Society. Kay was also involved with the Middlesex Senior Club and the Silver Knights Rutgers Retirees.
She is predeceased by her husband John McBride who died in 1991 and by her siblings; Mary Sloan and John and Robert Wilverding.
Kay leaves behind her loving children Kathleen Ann Koral (Daniel) of Lancaster, PA, Raymond McBride (Mary) of Mechanicsville, VA, Larry McBride (Andre) of Langhorne, PA and Mark McBride (Amy) of Raritan, NJ, nine adored grandchildren and ten cherished great-grandchildren along with her two dear sisters; Patricia Duffe of Easton, PA and Margaret Wolfe of Florida.
Visitation will be held in Middlesex Funeral Home, 528 Bound Brook Road, Middlesex, NJ 08846 on Sunday, April 26, 2015 from 2:00pm until 5:00pm and on Monday, April 27, 2015 from 8:15am until 8:45am.
A Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Monday, April 27, 2015 beginning 9:30 am at Our Lady of Mount Virgin Parish in Middlesex followed by burial at Resurrection Burial Park in Piscataway.
A Memorial Tree was planted for Kathleen
