Peter Steiner Jr., 86, died Tuesday, February 14, 2017 at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital Somerset in Somerville.
Born in Rahway, Peter grew up in Iselin before settling in Piscataway 56 years ago. Honorably discharged from the United States Army, Peter was based in Alaska during the Korean Conflict.
He went on to work in the warehouse of Ingersoll Rand in Piscataway and retired 25 years ago.
Surviving are his wife of 61 years, Kathleen Steiner of Piscataway; three children, Julieann McGuire and husband Robert of Piscataway, Nicademius Steiner and wife Christine of Edison, and Georgeann Gurkovich and husband Stephen of Maryland.
He will also be missed by his seven grandchildren, Katieann, Gwen, Brittany, Josh, Robert II, Lindsey and Nicole and three great grandchildren, Carmine, Giuliana and Enisa.
Funeral services are private and under the direction of the South Plainfield Funeral Home.
