Obituary of GEORGE J. KROPIEWNICKI

George J. Kropiewnicki, 86, entered into eternal rest on Thursday, November 14, 2013 surrounded by his loving family at St. Peters University Hospital in New Brunswick. Born in Plains/Wilkes-Barre, PA to his late parents Joseph and Anna (Gayewski) Kropiewnicki, he enlisted in the US Navy in 1945. George was honorably discharged after faithfully serving his country during World War II. Married in 1954, he moved to Bayonne, NJ with his bride where they resided until he retired in 1992 and settled in Somerset.For many years, he was a dedicated accountant for the Block Drug Co. located in Jersey City, NJ. He was a member of The Church of Our Lady of Mercy in South Bound Brook and belonged to the Franklin Township Senior Citizens club. George was an avid sports fan, having a love for baseball and football, especially the NY Mets and NY Jets.He is predeceased by his wife Florence (Tarencz) who passed away in May of 2000.George is survived by his loving children; Joseph and his wife Patricia of Somerset, Juliann Mooney and her husband Michael of Kearny and Susan Boyle and her husband David of Somerset. He also leaves behind his seven adored grandchildren; Robert, Emily, Christopher, David, Rebecca, Julie and Lizzy along with his siblings; Constance Szustak, Joseph Kropiewnicki, Robert Kropiewnicki and his wife Margaret and Maryann Kropiewnicki.Relatives and friends may attend the visitation at the Piscataway Funeral Home, 18 Stelton Road, Piscataway, NJ 08854 on Sunday, November 17, 2013 from 2:00 pm until 6:00 pm and on Monday, November 18, 2013 from 8:30 am until 9:00 am.Funeral services will begin in the funeral home at 9:00 am on Monday, November 18, 2013 followed by a 10:00 am Mass of Christian Burial at The Church of Our Lady of Mercy, 122 High Street, South Bound Brook, NJ 08880. Burial will be held in Resurrection Burial Park in Piscataway.
