Obituary of Juan A. Garay

Juan A. Garay Sr.,76, passed away on Friday, November 24, 2017 at the Abingdon Care and Rehab in Green Brook. Born and raised in Peru, Juan arrived to the United States in the early 1970's. He lived in various areas throughout New Jersey and Puerto Rico, finally settling to Piscataway in 1997. A proud veteran of the Peruvian Navy, Juan served his country for 15 years prior to his discharge. He played professional soccer in Peru and Mexico for several years and also coached at the amateur and semi-professional level both in New Jersey and Puerto Rico. Additionally, Juan had a fulfilling career of almost fifty years as a machinist and tool and die maker. He is survived by his wife Gloria, son Juan A. Jr. both of Piscataway, daughter's Janet Lourdes and Sandra Miluska both of Roxbury, NJ, and daughter Katya Aimee of Miami, Florida, as well as four grandchildren. Relatives and friends will be gathering for visitation on Tuesday, November 28, 2017 beginning at 7pm in the Piscataway Funeral Home 18 Stelton Rd. Piscataway, NJ 08854 with an 8:30pm prayer service to follow in the funeral home. Cremation services will take place privately and Juan's cremated remains will be laid to rest at Fairview Cemetery, Westfield at a later date.
