Obituary of Dorothy Lillian Munz

Dorothy L. Munz (nee Meyer), 91, of South Plainfield, passed away peacefully on June 30, 2018. Born in Irvington to the late John and Irene Meyer (nee Stenz) she was raised in Newark and settled to South Plainfield in 1952. Dorothy worked as a clerk for the former Federal Telegraph and Radio Co. in Nutley. She was a member of the Covenant United Methodist Church in Plainfield since 1954 and dedicated time to her faith community. She was preceded in death by her dear siblings, Helen Murphy, Florance Tallman, and George Meyer, as well as by her beloved husband, Lothar "Uncle Lou" Munz in 2002. Surviving are her many nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, and great-great nieces and nephews and extended family. Family and friends are welcome to gather for visitation on Monday July 2, 2018 from 6:00 to 8:00PM and on Tuesday, July 3, 2018 from 9:00 to 11:00AM at the McCriskin-Gustafson Home for Funerals, 2425 Plainfield Avenue, South Plainfield. Funeral services will begin at 11:00AM on Tuesday, July 3rd at the funeral home with interment to follow at Fairmont Cemetery, Newark.
