Obituary of Gerard Celentano

Gerard "Jerry" Celentano, 57, passed away tragically on Wednesday, August 15, 2018 in Longs, South Carolina. Born in Plainfield, Jerry grew up in South Plainfield and resided in Hampton prior to relocating to South Carolina in 2017. Jerry loved being outdoors. He enjoyed spending time relaxing at the beach and riding his Harley. He was an avid NY Yankees and NASCAR fan as well as the NY football Giants. In addition to his love for the outdoors and sport, Jerry was known for working well with his hands. He was a Union Laborer Foreman working for Furino and Sons Inc., a heavy construction company in Branchburg. He will be deeply missed by his entire family who, out of everything in this life, Jerry loved the most. GO BIG BLUE… Predeceased by his parents, Jean and Guido Celentano, Jerry is survived by his dear family, loving wife and soulmate, Doreen; children, Jesse Celentano of Phillipsburg and Alexarae Rizzo of Howell; sister, Diane Leahy and her husband Joseph of Woodbridge; brother Alfred Celentano of Ventura, CA.; mother and father in law, Barbara and Lawrence Wisniewski of SC. and brothers in law, Lawrence Wisniewski Jr. and his wife Dana of FL. and Wayne Wisniewski and his wife Margaux of Lawrenceville. Also surviving are several nieces, nephews, extended relatives and dear friends. Funeral Services will be held on Thursday, August 23, 2018 beginning at 9am in the McCriskin - Gustafson Home for Funerals 2425 Plainfield Ave., South Plainfield followed by a 10am funeral mass at Sacred Heart RC Church, South Plainfield. Entombment will follow at Holy Redeemer Cemetery, South Plainfield, NJ 07080. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, August 22, 2018 from 4-8pm in the funeral home.
