Obituary of Mark H. Habley

Morgan - Mark H. Habley, 55, passed away peacefully at home on Wednesday, September 26, 2018 after a long battle with cancer.
Born in Summit, Mark grew up in South Plainfield and graduated from South Plainfield High School in 1981. Following High School, Mark furthered his education at Brookdale Community College where he earned his Associate's Degree in Applied Science specializing in Communications.
After college Mark relocated to North Plainfield prior to settling in Morgan in 2004.
An accomplished and talented musician, Mark enjoyed playing lead guitar throughout his life, starting with in High School and later with notable bands on the Jersey Shore. Mark owned and operated The Fort, a recording in South Amboy, he taught video production for several years at Union High School, and up until recently worked as a technician at Jersey Jack Pinball in Lakewood. Mark enjoyed recording and editing music, videography, photography, electronics, and motorcycles.
Mark was member of Faith Chapel in Union Beach and played percussion with the church band.
Predeceased by his father, John Habley in 2014; surviving are his wife, Frances Drake-Habley of Morgan, his mother, Betty Habley of South Plainfield; sister, Susan Habley of Branchburg and brother, Jeffrey Habley and wife Judy of Wayne.
He will also be missed by his nephews, Stephen and Mathew Blyth and Nicholas Habley along with several extended nieces, nephews, loving relatives and dear friends.
A Memorial Gathering of relatives and friends will be held on Tuesday, October 2, 2018 from 4-8PM in the McCriskin - Gustafson Home For Funerals, 2425 Plainfield Avenue South Plainfield, NJ 07080.
Burial of Mark's cremated remains will be held privately.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Mark's memorial to the Plainfield Area Humane Society 75 Rock Avenue Plainfield, NJ 07063.
