South Plainfield - Vito G. Cosenza, 86, of South Plainfield, NJ, passed away on Monday, October 15, 2018.
Vito was born in Chicago, IL, on August 10, 1932. He was the youngest of 12. Prior to moving to South Plainfield, he and his family resided in New York.
Vito served in the United States Army during the Korean War as a US Army Ranger and he was awarded the Occupation Medal Germany & The National Defense Service Medal.
He is survived by his wife, Lillian of 61 years and by his daughters, Janet Cosenza of South Plainfield and Karen Plasse and husband Glenn also of South Plainfield.
He will also be missed by his six grandchildren, Lindsay Vito and husband Michael, Elyse Phillips and husband Stephen, Jenna Kanaley, Matthew Kanaley, Melissa Plasse and Alexa Plasse and three great grandchildren, Mikayla, Bryce and Avery all residing in South Plainfield.
Viewing along with funeral services will be held on Wednesday, October 17, 2018 beginning at 9AM in the McCriskin - Gustafson Home For Funerals, 2425 Plainfield Avenue South Plainfield NJ 07080, followed by a funeral mass at 10AM in Sacred Heart RC Church at 10AM.
Burial will follow in Holy Redeemer Cemetery, South Plainfield.
