Brooklyn - Donald E. Palmer, 83, of Brooklyn, NY, passed away on February 4, 2018 was a lifelong resident of Brooklyn.
Mr. Palmer proudly served his country in the United States Marine Corps and went on to dedicate 20 years to the New York City Police Department. He was also the security supervisor at Shea Stadium for 25 years and was an avid Mets fan. A professor at Union County College, Donald taught for thirty years.
Donald was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather who enjoyed the quality time spent with his family, especially his grandchildren.
Surviving are his beloved wife, Patricia Palmer; children, Carolyn Keough and husband Colum, Jennifer Collum and husband David and Amy Kowalski and husband Brian; six grandchildren, Brendan, William, Aidan, Jake, Caitlin, and Dylan, and his brother, Joseph Palmer and wife Eileen, as well as his extended family and friends.
Relatives and friends will be gathering for the funeral mass on Wednesday, February 7, 2018 at 11:30AM St. Helen's R.C. Church, 1600 Rahway Avenue, Westfield.
Funeral services are under the direction of the McCriskin-Gustafson Home for Funerals, 2425 Plainfield Avenue, South Plainfield, NJ 07080.
