Obituary of Linda K. Carovillano

Phillipsburg – Linda K. (Gibbs) Carovillano, 68, passed away suddenly at St. Luke’s Hospital in Phillipsburg on Tuesday, February 19, 2019.  Born in Mount Vernon, NY to William and Eileen (Jankowski) Gibbs, Linda has spent most of her life in North Plainfield and Bridgewater.

Linda worked for many years as a bookkeeper, most recently at Lloyds Furniture in Somerville.  She loved Long Beach Island where she thoroughly enjoyed the beach with her family.  As an avid music lover, Linda enjoyed listening to Patsy Kline and Barbara Streisand and for many years, she sang with the Sweet Adelines.

Predeceased by her husband Dennis J. Carovillano, Sr. in 2010, her mother Eileen Gibbs and sister Kathy Erickson, Linda is survived by her loving children; Dennis J. Jr. and his wife Kelly of Cranford, James of Middlesex, Steven and his wife Marci of New Providence and Patricia Carovillano of Phillipsburg along with her seven adored grandchildren; Jennifer, Matthew, Julia, Meghan, Madison, Natalie and Audrey.

Linda also leaves behind her father William Gibbs of Raritan, siblings; Michael Gibbs and his wife Georgette of Bridgewater, Bill Gibbs and his wife Theresa of Lincoln Park, Dawn Barry and her husband Wayne of Raritan, fifteen nieces and nephews and several great-nieces and nephews and extended family and friends.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, February 23, 2019 beginning 11:00 am at McCriskin-Gustafson Home for Funerals, 2425 Plainfield Avenue, South Plainfield, NJ 07080.  Burial will follow at St. Bernard Cemetery in Bridgewater.

Family and friends may gather to the funeral home on Friday, February 22, 2019 from 4-8 pm and on Saturday beginning 10:30 am.  In lieu of flowers, donations sent to Linda’s family would be appreciated.
