Josephine Rivetti

Obituary of Josephine Rivetti

Colonia – Josephine (Brutti) Rivetti, 76, passed away on April 4, 2019 surrounded by her family.  Born in Grottammare, Italy to the late Attilio and Itala (Loy) Brutti, she immigrated to the United States in 1955, living in Newark and East Orange prior to settling in Colonia, in 1968.

Josephine loved spending time with her family. She took great pride in hosting holidays and gatherings, cooking and baking for her family with love. A truly artistic and creative person, she created beauty in everything she touched. She was a proud owner of Salerno’s Pizza in South Plainfield, where the locals knew her as “Mrs. Salerno.” For 37 years, Josephine was an icon at the restaurant, sharing her favorite meals with others and serving every dish with a warm smile.

Predeceased by her sisters Cecilia and Caterina, Josephine leaves behind her loving husband of fifty-five years, Antimo; her three children, Jack of Colonia, Vivian of Gladstone, and Attilio with his wife Michelle of Bernardsville; seven adored grandchildren, Joey with his future wife Grace, Gabrielle, Alexandra, Max, Michael, Maddy, and Risa; and her two sisters, Maria Luisa and Lilia with her husband Bill, along with their loving families.
