Obituary of Marion C. Scholz

Piscataway - Marion (Coleman) Scholz, age 93, passed away on Friday, June 7, 2019 at RWJ University Hospital at Somerset in Somerville.  Born and raised in New York to the late Jeremiah and Cecilia (McCabe) Coleman, she worked at Cushman’s Bakery and Horn & Hardart’s before moving to New Jersey in 1945.


A foster parent for over twenty years, Marion had a love for family.  She was a loving mother, grandmother, and homemaker, Marion enjoyed cook outs, parties, and social gatherings with her family and friends, especially over the summer and holidays.  She was a member of Our Lady of Fatima Senior Citizens, Piscataway Senior Citizens, and Our Lady of Mount Virgin Senior Citizens.


The last of six siblings; she is also predeceased by her late husband of sixty-seven years, O. John Scholz who died on March 14, 2012.


Marion is survived by her son Jack Scholz and his wife Joan of North Palm Beach, FL, her daughter Sharon and her husband Phil, and foster children Edward and his wife Jane, Russell and his wife Rosemary, Grace and her husband Ralph.  She was the proud grandmother of twelve and great-grandmother to nine.


The family will receive friends Wednesday, June 12, 2019 from 5 pm to 8 pm at the Piscataway Funeral Home, 18 Stelton Rd., Piscataway, NJ 08854.  A funeral mass will be held on Thursday, at 9:30 am at Our Lady of Mount Virgin Church in Middlesex with mausoleum entombment following at Resurrection Burial Park in Piscataway.


In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Marion’s name to the Disabled American Veterans, PO Box 14301, Cincinnati, OH 45250-0301
