Dear Anna, Angie and Carl.....we are so sorry for you loss...you can not live across the street from someone for 50 years...and not KNOW that you will miss them...for as long as you live there. He was an unusual man...sometimes never sure...where you stood with him...but mellowed as he aged..I found him funny..and a bit mischievous as he got older....and I would see him...every day...across the street tending to his yard with such intense and personal care...he LOVED his yard...and garden... I think it kept him busy and he liked that..never seeming to want to have nothing to do...I will miss...seeing him...so many times when I'd go into my kitchen...there was something comforting...about seeing him there...and busy...and I WILL ...miss him seeing out there...every day...hugs and love to you all...as you now...go on to a different part of your journey...each of you...and the grands and great grands too...hearing stories...about their colorful...and interesting heritage left by him....love and hugs to you all, CAROL and Bob
