Katherine Barbara Policastro, “Kay” entered God’s gates on May 09, 2020. Devoted wife, beloved mother and grandmother, always putting her family first. Kay leaves behind many treasured memories, her kind and caring heart will shine forever. Born July 19, 1936 in Newark, NJ. Kay and her late husband raised their family in Newark, NJ later retiring to East Brunswick, NJ. She enjoyed the many Policastro family traditions of endless celebrations, home cooked meals prepared by the entire family together which had to be followed by desert and the annual Wildwood vacation, she looked forward to all year. Kay was an animal lover who had many cats over the years and an avid reader. She took delight and pleasure in watching her grandchildren play sports, decorating for every holiday, playing card games, bingos and checkers, especially when she was winning. Kay was generous, lovable and social; with an upbeat personality and a great sense of humor. She left a forever mark on every heart she touched. Predeceased by her husband George James Policastro, father in law Peter Policastro and her loving mother in law Mildred Policastro. She leaves behind a family she loved and was very proud of, a daughter Sharon Rodriguez-Osnowitz and her husband David, a son Peter George Policastro, a daughter MaryAnn Paone and her husband Dominick and her adored grandchildren: George Peter Policastro and his girlfriend Maria Christina, Gina Marie Policastro and her boyfriend Sam, Alyssa Paone, Ava Paone and Anthony Paone. Her family benefited from her many fine qualities; first and foremost; her ability to show through countless examples how you care for the ones you love. Her surviving family members will cherish the memory of her and love her always. The Family wishes to extend their most heartfelt thanks to the wonderful and caring staff at The Gardens of Monroe, her longtime caretaker Belinda and all of the front line first responders. To all of the family’s effected by COVID19, we would like to extend our condolences during this most difficult time.
