Obituary of Nancy Moore
South Plainfield, NJ – Nancy Ann (Johnson) Moore, 80, passed away on May 11, 2020 at her son’s residence in Upstate New York. Born in New Brunswick to the late Russell and Henrietta (Gary) Johnson, Nancy lived in Plainfield, Dunellen, Piscataway and finally settled to South Plainfield in 1971.
A beloved wife of Alan Moore for 43 years and mother of three, Nancy spent her time caring for her family. In her earlier years, she worked as a secretary. She enjoyed knitting, crocheting and needle point. A member of the South Plainfield Senior Center, she loved to spend time with the wonderful women there, especially knitting baby hats and various items for charity.
She had a strong faith in God and went to services often at St. Stephen’s Lutheran Church. She was known for her long talks, and could never walk into a store without taking time to talk to strangers, friends or anyone in need.
Nancy leaves behind her son James of South Plainfield, daughter-in-law Aleksandra Gondek, who tirelessly cared for Nancy during her final months, daughters; Nancy and Brad Bullard of Brick and Kristy and Ned Forys of Alabama and five grandchildren.
Funeral services were privately handled through McCriskin-Gustafson Home for Funerals in South Plainfield. Nancy was buried in the family plot of Hillside Cemetery in Scotch Plains. A remembrance gathering will be planned once it is safe for a proper gathering.
