Obituary of Denise Rose Walker
Denise Rose Walker, 70, passed away on May 26, 2020, due to a stroke.
Born in Brooklyn, NY, in 1950 to Emma and Robert Walker, Denise grew up on Long Island in Centereach. After graduating from Newfield High School in 1968 then Suffolk Community College in 1970, she received her bachelor’s degree in 1972 from SUNY Stony Brook with a cum laude in education.
In 1974, Denise relocated to Ft. Myers , Florida, where she was a longtime resident. She also resided in Cape Coral, Florida before she settled to South Plainfield two years ago.
Though she remained single throughout her life, her love for children was evident from her dedicated service in teaching elementary school children. She began her career in the Bonita Springs School system and retired in 2012 from Heights Elementary School of Ft. Myers.
Denise was a beautiful lady, who gave her best, had a generous heart and loved much. Her artistic abilities and love for gardening was shared with many children and her family. She also loved her pets. Denise was a devout Roman Catholic and was a faith-filled member in the various parishes of where she lived.
Denise was predeceased by her parents; sister, Jean and brother, Thomas. She is survived by her brother, Robert and wife, Eileen and sister, Edith. She will also be missed by her five nieces and seven nephews and their children that she loved.
Burial will be held in Lee Memorial Park, Lehigh Acres Florida on June 3, 2020.
