Bradley Beach – Angel L. Vega, 48, passed away in his sleep on Sunday, October 4, 2020 at his residence.  Born in Newark NJ Angel grew up in Hillside NJ, later living in Albany and Syracuse, NY prior to settling back to New Jersey in 2012.

Angel had a passion for the culinary arts.  He was a proud owner and operator of several restaurants and catering businesses in the area. He most recently took pride in providing for patients at Jersey Shore Medical Center, serving meals while offering the gentle smile and kind words that he was so well known for.  He loved music and was a trained classical pianist, playing in several prestigious  recitals, most notably at Carnegie Hall.

Predeceased by his father Lucio Vega and niece Angela DeCarlo, Angel is survived by his mother; Marta (Bianchi) Vega of Piscataway, his son Alessio of Syracuse, two sisters; Lily Vega of Bedminster and Claudia DeCarlo of Baltimore, MD as well as his nephew Jason Ferrera of Bedminster. Angel was so proud to see Alessio follow in his musical footsteps in becoming a talented pianist. In addition, they shared their passion for soccer, always rooting for Uruguay futbol.  

A gathering celebrating Angel’s life will be held at Middlesex Funeral Home, 528 Bound Brook Road, Middlesex, NJ 08846 on Saturday, October 10, 2020 from 2:00 pm until 4:00 pm. Masks are required. We ask that anyone who has traveled outside the U.S., has knowingly come in contact with anyone that has tested Covid positive, or has tested positive themselves in the last 14 days, please not attend.
