Monroe – William “Bill” Spora, 88, passed away Wednesday, December 30, 2020 at the Regency Jewish Heritage Post-Acute, Rehab & Nursing Center in Somerset.

 

Born in Newark to the late Sofie and John Spora, Bill grew up in Newark.  In 1953, he enlisted with the United States Army and was stationed at Fort McClellan in Annistion Alabama.  After his honorable discharge, Bill and his late wife, Joan settled to Piscataway raising their family. After her passing, Bill relocated to Monroe Township.

 

Bill, a hardworking man, enjoyed bowling and traveling.  He will be remembered for having a wonderful sense of humor and being a devoted husband, father and friend.

 

Predeceased by his wife who died in 1990, Joan Florence Spora; surviving are his two children, Greg Spora and his wife, Michelle of Atlanta, GA and Brenda Spora of Keansburg and his sister, Margaret Crevani of Butler, NJ.

 

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, January 5, 2021 at 10:30AM in the Piscataway Funeral Home, 18 Stelton Road Piscataway NJ 08854 followed by burial in Lake Nelson Memorial Park, Piscataway.

 

Visitation will be held on Monday from 5-7PM in the funeral home.
