God saw you getting tired And a cure was not meant to be. So he put his arms around you And whispered 'Come to Me'. With tearful eyes As we new you pass away. Although we loved you deeply, Your Golden Heart stopped beating, Hard working hands at rest. God broke our hearts to prove to us. He only takes the best. We have great memories of you we will cherish. and lots of laughs we had with you too.We will miss you everyday. Give our Angel Gary a hug and a kiss from us. Love your Brother Ray and Candy

COUSIN RONNIE..."he walked to the beat of a different drummer", but the song he sang was beautiful. Truly a guy who did things "his way" I admired Ronnie for that, since I was a kid. Often "the first" he was always the most energetic guy who was a pace-setter in our family. From small "firsts" like the first to own a color TV (I recall how amazed I was to visit them and watch it) to the significant "first" in the family to distinguish himself as a policeman. But the real reasons I admired my cousin were two very memorable events in my life. As a young kid, I was not one who had much interest in guns, hunting, fishing or such things. But when I was 13, it was Ronnie who invited me to go to the "Sportsmans Show" at the Rutgers Field house, in 1964. WOW, what an amazing experience. I tied fishing flies, watched outdoor movies, saw animals I had never seen, met Rutgers professors, lecturing on what was back then "environmental science" and ate more junk food than I remember! I decided that day, I wanted to go to Rutgers, which I actually did, and got three degrees. It was Ronnie who gave me the idea, and I always remembered that. The second event was at a birthday party he invited me and my husband, Mike to, back around 2000. I had recently moved in with Mike and that year I was slowly introducing Mike to members of my family. Of course I was reticent, but Ronnie stood at the pool, in his "signature" pink shorts, and told Mike how happy he was that he came. Ron's love and acceptance made us not only feel comfortable and accepted, but we has a great time as well. In many ways, I hope my own grand sons have some of Ronnie's DNA in them, and live a life on their own terms, like my cousin Ronnie did.

Marge and family, my deepest condolence in Ronny passing. I can say he was one heck of a great guy. He was tough but very compassionate. He was by any measure an asset to the Piscataway Police Department, and a good will ambassador to the community. Never a complaint. I'm very proud and glad to have worked with him all of those years. I will miss him not only as a co-worker, but as a friend.

Andrea Bird (Graber) NC - Uncle Ronnie, I know that damn raccoon is running around with you. You know, the one you used to scare me with on the porch. So many memories of your house. The tree house in the back yard, swimming in blue water if we peed, calling me Alyssa instead of Andrea just to annoy me! I was never scared of you as a child. You were a gentle giant. Aunt Marge was always around to swoosh you away if need be. You will be missed by so many. You know what I’m going to do when I get to Jersey? I’m touching that black car you had roped off! Lol. Love you always. Don’t give Grandma Phyllis too much hell

I was blessed to have Ron in my life and to call Ron my friend. I have known Ron since 1983. Ron was a tough man with a soft heart. Ron was also a fashion statement especially in the summer with his neon shorts and work boots. Ron was known by some as the Master. Ron new how to fix almost everything and he was truly a guy that would stop what he was doing to help someone out in time of need at any time of the day. Ron was a night owl. Lol. Heaven has gained another angle. Ron will be missed by many but Ron will also be watching over us all. Thank You Ron for all of the great times and things you have done in my life. Rest In Peace my friend. Until we meet again.

He's known me my whole life. All our family Jersey trips to the shore, to his pool that he told me if I peed in it would turn blue! He was a tough tough brut of a man but soft as can be deep down. I looked up to him for unapologetically being HIM. Everyone around him loved him and he could always make us laugh. I'll miss him terribly. Rest in peace great Uncle. I love you.

One of Ron's qualities was that he was always calm under any condition. He was not a man of many words, he made his thoughts known in as few words as possible. I worked with him for many years, he was a Good Cop.
Marge and Family, sorry for your loss.

My earliest memories of Uncle Ron cast him as a rebel...with integrity and morals. I loved that about him. He did what he wanted, was rough around the edges, would kick your tail but hug you later, and always had a joke on hand. A cool guy with a heart of gold.
I will miss him. My heart hurts for those closest to him.

I met Ronnie working on my friends fathers farm. From there I helped him run the skeet shooting there for some events and fixed his cars and such every now and then. He helped me out numerous times with gas tanks for my torch and a card with my name on it. He always cared about you and what you were into and your well being more than his self. I will miss him and his smile and jokes very much. Whenever I spoke with him it was followed by a joke and a laugh no matter what. A good man who will be missed by all who crossed his path and had the opportunity to really talk to him. RIP Ronnie your boy Ian from the farm. You always were a 25 year old at heart.

Clarence and I agree that uncle Ronnie was the Emperor of our family. In my eyes he was a man made of steel but a Gental Giant in so many ways! It always seemed that nothing could harm him. He saved so many that needed saving. His helping people and family was endless.when I was with him I felt nothing could harm me! His house sometimes was a safe Haven for the times I needed it most . He made me feel like a big soft fluffy cuddly blanket was wrapped around me and I felt safe in his presence.I will miss him beyond measure and my memories will live on forever in my heart and soul.He touched more hearts than he ever knew. It takes a minute to find a special person, an hour to appreciate them, but it takes an eternity to forget them! So Uncle Ronnie I will love you into eternity! I do feel comfort in the thought that you now are wrapped in that same soft fluffy cuddly blanket feeling that you made me feel! Love Adele

My Uncle Ron was like a 2nd Father to me. He helped me with a lot of issues I had growing up! He was a "Corner Stone" in our Family. Since he went into the Hospital, Deb and I had prayed that God would have His Perfect Will worked out in his physical Body. Apparently He didn't want you to suffer or get any worse then things were. So He gently took you by His side and walked you into His Heavenly Home! I plan on going on that walk one day in the future Ron, where I will see you again! Until then, I promise to do what ever is in my power to be by Aunt Marges side even tho we are in Minnesota, to lend a helping hand to do what ever is nessary to get RID OF A FEW THINGS! Until we meet again Uncle Ron, you will be close to my Heart, and the Memories! Deb always considered you as a pillar of strenth and a the rock of our Family. Thank you! We Love you, Clarence and Deb

I have nothing but fond & loving memories of you Uncle Ron. Always with a child like smile... your laughter was contageous and your humor unforgettable. You reminded me of my Dad; like him, Uncle Ron, you never met a stranger. Thanks for all the incredible memories. You will be sorely missed. I love you, Darlene.

Heaven has gained another precious soul! My Uncle Ron was one of the kindest, funniest, most loving man I have ever known. I will always miss your smile & sense of humor most. Your were the "ABSOLUTE BEST" Brother to my Mom Phyllis Shaffer-Koye and my Dad's Best Friend-( Henry Shaffer ) I can't say enough good things about my Uncle or share enough of his "Special Stories" that I will cherish for the rest of my life. I don't know how to say Good Bye... So I say with a broken heart... So long Uncle Ron I love you & I will see you again.
Love,
Babba Darlene- what you called Dar & I "Our whole life"
