Obituary of Rose Madeline Reda

Please share a memory of Rose to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

Rose M. Reda, nee Vacca, age 88, of Jackson Township, NJ passed away peacefully on February 2, 2021 at Monmouth Medical Center, Southern Campus in Lakewood, NJ.

Born and raised in Brooklyn, NY, Rose married John F. Reda in 1960. Together they moved to the Lake Nelson section of Piscataway in 1962. There they raised three children, Frank, Rosemarie, and Nick. Rose was an amazing cook, a devoted wife and she dedicated her life to raising her children and making a loving and warm home for the family.

Early in her life, Rose was a parishioner at our Lady of Fatima in Piscataway and volunteered her time for parish activities. She also enjoyed playing bingo and contributing to PTA activities for the school. Later in life, she also enjoyed her trips to Atlantic City, where she owned the video poker machines. But most of all, she loved to get family together. She organized many family reunions over the years. These became much anticipated annual events.

In 2002, Rose and John moved to the Westlake Community in Jackson Township, NJ.

Rose is survived by her loving husband of nearly 61 years, John F. Reda; three children, Frank Reda and his wife Maureen of South River, NJ, Rosemarie Reda of Piscataway, NJ and Nick Reda and his wife Kristen of Jackson Township, NJ.  She will also be missed by her three grandchildren, Nicole Reda of Los Angeles, CA, John Reda of New York, NY and Nicholas Reda of Jackson Township, NJ.

Rose is also survived by her twin sister, Frances Pemberton of South Carolina; a brother, John Vacca of Arizona and a younger sister, Pat Farone of Georgia. Rose is predeceased by three sisters, Theresa McAllen, Mary DeVaynes and Grace Prendergast, as well as a brother, Frank Vacca.

Due to the pandemic, the family is holding a private viewing and service. A public memorial service will be planned at a later date when it is safe for large gatherings.
