Obituary of Walter Erik Millett
Edison – Walter Erik Millet, 55, known by family and friends as Erik, died Sunday, February 21, 2021 at JFK Medical Center in Edison.
A lifelong resident of Edison, Erik worked as a crossing guard and took great pride in serving and protecting the children he was entrusted with, he also directed traffic in front of Woodrow Wilson School in Edison. Erik also was the owner and operator of his own upholstery business for several years, where his talented work was appreciated and admired by many.
A graduate of East Brunswick Vo Tech High School, Erik enjoyed fixing things. He creatively invented ways to improve his tools and appliances and he also enjoyed playing video games, listening to country music and helping animals in need.
Erik attended church services at St. Stephens Lutheran Church in South Plainfield and was a member of the Vasa Order of America Lodge Lyckan, Erik was devoted to his mother, Vera and cat, Creamy. An outstanding brother to Sheri, he was always willing to extend a helping hand to family, friends and neighbors.
Surviving are his mother, Vera Millett of Edison and sister, Sheri Millett – Agens and husband David of South Plainfield; foster sister, Cindy Urban of Sewaren as well as many cousins and loving neighbors.
Funeral arrangements are private and under the direction of the McCriskin – Gustafson Home For Funerals.
