Obituary of Rene Marco
Rene G. Marco, 66, passed away on Monday, August 23, 2021 after battling diabetes and its many health complexities.
Rene was born on Feb 19, 1955 in the city of Rizal, Philippines, to Colonel Sotero Marco and Laudelina Gresola Marco.
He graduated with a degree in Civil Engineering from Far Eastern University. One of his many achievements was playing a vital role in Philippine tele-communications. Working for one of the largest telecom companies in the Philippines, he worked on the Philippine Long Distance and Telephone Co.'s Zero Backlog program.
He later attended the Philippine Military Academy and went to work for the Philippine Constabulary where he gathered police intelligence. While working for the Philippine Constabulary, he took a real interest in computers and eventually volunteered to partake in their training program for computer programming. As a computer programmer, he travelled the world. From Malaysia, Indonesia, Singapore to Australia, he worked on projects in different countries. Finally settling in the United States in 1997, he immigrated with his family to New Jersey. In the United States, he continued his work as a computer programmer, consulting for different companies in New York, New Jersey and Florida.
He is survived by his wife, Angelina of Piscataway; sons, Angelo Marco of Piscataway, Rey Marco also of Piscataway, Ronald Marco of Edison, Arvin Marco of Somerville; and daughter, Rona Marco of Princeton; grandchildren, Railey, Francesca, Sophia, Elijah, and Ethan; four sisters and four brothers all of the Philippines. Also surviving are several nieces, nephews and extended relatives and friends.
Rene is well loved, and will always be remembered for his strength, resilience, strict discipline, great sense of humor, and loving nature. He will be memorialized by the stories of his unwavering courage where he would fearlessly take on anyone or anything for his family. Lionhearted, he taught his children to enjoy life to its fullest. Though he has achieved many things in life, his greatest achievement was being a great husband, father, grandfather and friend. He will be forever missed.
Visitation will be held on Friday, August 27, 2021 from 5-9pm in the Piscataway Funeral Home 18 Stelton Rd, Piscataway, NJ 08854.
Funeral mass will be held on Saturday, August 28, 2021 at 10am at Our Lady of Fatima RC Church, 501 New Market Rd Piscataway, NJ 08854.
Entombment will follow at Resurrection Burial Park, Piscataway, NJ.
