Obituary of James B. McGarry

James B. McGarry, 87, died on Sunday, September 19, 2021 at home in South Plainfield.

Born in the Bronx, NY, Jim grew up in Brooklyn, NY and resided in Fairview as well as Roselle prior to settling in South Plainfield in 1984.

After serving in the Navy during the Korean War, he worked for US Testing Company in Hoboken in the early 60s, and then spent most of his work years as an avionics mechanic for decades at Pan Am Airlines at JFK airport.    

Jim is survived by beloved wife, Elizabeth; children James W. (Carolyn) of Boston, MA., Kenneth (Celeste) of Woodstock, GA., Christopher (Mary Kate Spach) of Mableton, GA., Jeanne (William Morrison) of Rockaway, and Robert (Samantha Watson) of Rahway.  He is also survived by nine loving grandchildren:  Keegan, Casey, Julia, Amelia, Elizabeth, Jack, Ian, Daniel and Kathleen, as well as his brother Michael (Marie) of Freehold.  Jim was predeceased by his brother John.

Cremation services were held privately.
