Obituary of Olga Pirone
Olga Pirone, 90, passed away on Friday, October 8, 2021 in Middlesex.
Born in Somerville, Mrs. Pirone grew up in Manville and lived in Bound Brook for a short time before to settling to Middlesex in 1962.
She was a longtime member of the Manville Ladies Auxiliary as well as the Middlesex Senior Center.
Olga worked for Texize/Dow Chemicals in Piscataway for many years retiring in 1998 and the Macys Department store in until finally exiting the workforce in 2000.
She enjoyed her annual trips to Las Vegas and Atlantic City and going on cruises. Olga was also known for her desire to “hit big” by her love for playing the lottery and slot machines. She also enjoyed following her daily horoscope as well as chatting with Fortune Tellers.
Mrs. Pirone was a skilled gardener who loved tending to flowers and her yard. She liked to play bingo, crossword puzzles and shop. In addition, Olga also enjoyed baking, knitting, quilting or painting by numbers as well as listening to variety of different music.
Outside of spending time with her family in particular her grandchildren who she loved dearly, Mrs. Pirone was an avid animal lover. Her dog Pixie, who she adopted five years ago, always stayed by her side guiding her through some of her darkest challenges.
She is predeceased by her husband Joseph; sister, Anna Wasitowski and brother, Michael Makowski.
Surviving are her daughters, Christine Theofanides of Piscataway and Annemarie Pirone of Haines City, Fl.; sons, Joseph Pirone and his wife Anita of Venice, FL. and Mark Pirone and Easton, PA. and grandchildren, Matthew, Austin, Zachary, Giana and Anthony.
Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday, October 20, 2021 at 10:15am in the Middlesex Funeral Home 528 Bound Brook Rd. Middlesex, NJ 08846.
Entombment will follow at Resurrection Burial Park, Piscataway.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, October 19, 2021 from 6-9pm in the funeral home.
