Obituary of Lawrence A. Yannuzzi

Middlesex, NJ – Lawrence “Larry” Yannuzzi, 80, passed away peacefully at CareOne in Bound Brook, NJ.

 

Born in Irvington to the late Filomena (Iannello) and Philip Yannuzzi, Larry grew up in Newark and East Orange, NJ.  After marrying his beloved wife of 49 years, Phyllis Marie Garrubbo, the pair settled in Middlesex, NJ where they lived for 53 years. Both Larry and Phyllis were communicants of Our Lady of Mt Virgin Church.

 

A proud alumnus of Seton Hall Prep and Seton Hall University, Larry was an exceptional athlete who in 2007 was inducted into the Seton Hall University, Sports Hall of Fame.  His love of sports drew him to officiating, which he enjoyed for over 35 years.  He became a member of multiple sporting associations with state officiating certifications in Football, Basketball, Baseball and Softball. Larry worked as an Insurance Adjuster at General Adjustment Bureau for 42 years before retiring in 2006. Larry also served in the National Guard from 1964-1970.

 

Predeceased by his wife, Phyllis Marie Yannuzzi; surviving are his daughter, Lauren Yannuzzi of Bedminster, NJ; son, Craig Yannuzzi and wife Joanna of Bloomsbury,NJ; his two beloved granddaughters, Madeline and Amanda Yannuzzi, Bloomsbury, NJ and his sister: Louise Pilles Livingston, NJ.

 

A private ceremony and burial at Resurrection Burial Park, Piscataway, NJ was held on November 2, 2021 under the direction of the Middlesex Funeral Home.
