Obituary of Marion Rose
It is with great sadness that the family of Marion Rose of South Plainfield announces she peacefully passed away on Sunday, October 31, 2021 at the age of 95. Our beloved mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, aunt, friend and devoted catholic will be deeply missed.
Marion was born in Scranton PA to Michael and Catherine Conway. She grew up in Jersey City and settled to South Plainfield where she spent most of her years with her family. Marion worked as a secretary and retired from the Weyerhaeuser Company.
Marion’s grandchildren and great grandchildren gave her the most joy. She also loved to travel with her sisters and family and spent most winters in St. Pete Beach Florida with them. Marion also made several trips to Ireland where she found her ancestral roots and distant relatives which she really enjoyed. A world traveler, Marion also had the pleasure of visiting, Rome, Venice and Florence Italy, London England, Paris France, Anchorage Alaska and Lucerne Switzerland. She also enjoyed a couple of fun Las Vegas, trips where she met her idol Vic Damone.
Marion is predeceased by her loving husband of 28 years Norval Rose and her siblings Helen Barrett, Kathleen Geary and William Conway.
She will be remembered by her daughter, Patricia Rose and son, Robert Rose and his wife Elida Rose; sister, Marjorie Smith and husband Blair Smith as well as her four grandchildren, Brian Goldmann and his wife Jennifer Goldmann, Stacey Ricco, Anthony Rose and his wife Angelina Rose and Ryan Rose and his wife Kimberly Rose.
She will also be missed by her eight great grandchildren, Caeli Goldmann, Jaden Ricco, Lucas Ricco, Austin Rose, Anthony Rose Jr., Avery Rose, Julia Rose and Kylie Rose; in addition there are many loving nieces, nephews and friends.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, November 4, 2021 at 9:30AM in the McCriskin – Gustafson Home For Funerals, 2425 Plainfield Avenue South Plainfield NJ 07080 followed by a funeral mass in Sacred Heart RC Church at 10:30AM.
Burial will follow in Holy Redeemer Cemetery, South Plainfield.
Family and friends may gather in the funeral home on Wednesday, November 3, 2021 from 4-7PM.
