Obituary of Karen Gerondelis

Karen Gerondelis, 73, passed away suddenly Sunday, December 19, 2021.

Born in Plainfield, to John and Helen (Atamantyk) Paolo, Karen was raised in Scotch Plains and settled in South Plainfield in 1969.

Karen worked various jobs over the years but worked most of her career was spent in the food industry. She worked at the former McDonald’s located across the street from Middlesex High School, and in her later years, she worked in the kitchen at the Green Brook Regional Center prior to her retirement.

Outside of work, she found peace in her dog and many cats. In more recent years, Karen could be seen feeding the birds in her backyard, as they waited for her on her door. Along with her love for animals, Karen was also known for her love of gardening.

Karen leaves behind her husband Peter Gerondelis and their children; Carol Treptow and her husband Rob, of Bound Brook, George Gerondelis and his wife Liliana, of Perth Amboy. Also surviving are her two grandchildren, Jesse and Justin.

All are invited to attend the visitation in the McCriskin – Gustafson Home for Funerals, 2425 Plainfield Avenue, South Plainfield NJ 07080 on Sunday, December 26, 2021, from 1-4pm.

Funeral Services will be held on Monday, December 27, 2021 beginning at 10:30am in the funeral home.

Following the blessing interment will be held in Bound Brook Cemetery, Bound Brook, NJ.
