Obituary of Antoinette M. Peppe

Please share a memory of Antoinette to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

Antoinette Maria Peppe (Di Alfonso), 90, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, February 23, 2022, at her home in Middlesex.  Born in Bound Brook to the late Catherine (Mancino) and Anthony Di Alfonso, she remained in Bound Brook where she met and in 1953 married her beloved husband George who predeceased her in 2012 after 59 years of marriage.  Together they raised their children there before moving to Middlesex in 2001.  Ann graduated from BBHS in 1949 where she was a varsity cheerleader.  She was also a member of the Rosary Altar Society of St. Joseph’s Church in Bound Brook.

Ann worked for Ethicon, Inc. in Bridgewater for 18 years, retiring in 1993 as a Sr. Quality Assurance Technician. She was an incredible, traditional Italian cook and a gifted artist whose creativity overflowed into her free-hand paintings and drawings.  She was a talented home décor crafter, she loved to crochet and knit gorgeous sweaters, blankets, baby clothes and more.  She beautifully painted ceramic heirlooms, and truly had a talent and passion for gardening, bringing many a dead plant back to life!

Weekend trips with George to Atlantic City were a favorite pastime as were Bingo, vacations on the Jersey Shore with family, and playing cards with her grandchildren. She always had time to check in with her many family members and every visit or telephone conversation ended with an “I love you!” She looked forward to watching all sports, especially the Packers, Golden State Warriors and of course, the Mets.  Throughout her life, she remained an avid reader and was a regular at the local library until she mastered the Kindle where she amassed hundreds of reads.

Ann was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother.  She loved and was so loved by her children, grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.  Surviving are her daughter Jane Peppe of Bridgewater and her children Christian and Kelly; her son George Peppe, Jr. and his wife Patricia of Tucson, AZ and his children Lauren (Clark) Marks, Kyle (Alice) Peppe, Nicholas (Brittany) Peppe; her son Mark and his wife Dawn Peppe of Stewartsville, NJ and their children Mark, Sarah, and Dean; her daughter Jill DeNick and her husband Frank of Middlesex and their children Frank (Heather) DeNick, Salvatore and Angelo.  She was also blessed with 10 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will begin 9:00am on Friday, March 4 at the Middlesex Funeral Home, 528 Bound Brook Rd., Middlesex followed by a 10:00am Mass of Christian Burial at St. Joseph’s Church, 111 E. High Street in Bound Brook.  Visitation hours will be Thursday, March 3 from 2-4pm and 7-9pm at the funeral home.  Memorial contributions may be made in her name to ALSAC/St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105 or by visiting http://giftfunds.stjude.org/InLovingMemoryofAnnPeppe.
