Obituary of Anne Wanca
South Plainfield - Anne Wanca, 90, passed away on Tuesday, June 7, 2022 at home in South Plainfield.
Anne was raised and lived in South Plainfield her entire life. She is predeceased by her parents Anna and Michael Popik, brothers George, Harry, Mike, Charlie Popik and sister, Mary Popik. She had one son, John Wanca who lives in Arizona. They had a close and beautiful relationship in spite of the distance. Anne has three grandchildren, Tara and her husband Hadrian, expecting Anne’s first great grandchild at the end of September, her name to be Chole Kim, Jake Wanca and Becky Wanca.
Anne traveled the world as she worked for Eastern Airlines and after that she was a travel agent.
She was an active member of the South Plainfield Juvenile Conference Committee for over twenty years.
She volunteered and remained an active member of her church for her entire life, St. John Orthodox Church in Perth Amboy.
She loved her family and friends and will be greatly missed. She sent cards to everyone for birthdays and anniversaries. This thoughtful act will be missed by all.
Funeral Liturgy will be held on Saturday, June 11, 2022 at St. John the Baptist Carpatho – Russian Orthodox Church, 145 Broad St., Perth Amboy at 9:30AM.
Anne will be laid to rest immediately follow church at St. John the Baptist Carpatho – Russian Orthodox Church Cemetery, Fords.
Visitation will be held on Friday, June 10, 2022 from 4-8 pm in the McCriskin – Gustafson Home For Funerals 2425 Plainfield Ave. south Plainfield, NJ 07080.
In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting donations to her beloved church, St. John’s Orthodox Church in Perth Amboy.
