Obituary of William M. Evans
South Plainfield – William M. Evans, 63, passed away Saturday September 3, 2022 at Robert Wood Johnson Hospital in New Brunswick.
Born in Newark, Bill grew up and resided in Avenel until he later settled into South Plainfield five years ago.
A knowledgeable and hardworking mechanic, Bill began his career with UPS, FedEx then continued his vocation with PSE&G sixteen years ago.
Bill thoroughly enjoyed riding his motorcycle and driving his corvette with the top down. He also had a lifelong adoration of classic cars and loved fishing. Some of his fondest memories were of Salmon fishing with his friends.
He will be remembered for his love of jazz music, the pride he took in his home and having the best lawn andon his street. Everyone knew of his handyman skills and there wasn't a thing he couldn't fix around his home. He was a kind soul who was always willing to lend a helping hand to family and friends, he had great faith and was a deep thinker.
Surviving are his wife of sixteen years, Christine (Fasano) Evans; three sisters, Helen Evans, Patricia Niech and husband Gary and Diane Hunt and husband Peter; two nephews, Andrew Niech and wife Caitlyn and Anthony Niech. Bill is predeceased by his father William, mother Carmela and brother Mark.
He will also be missed by his step children, John Gagliano, Jr. and wife Kimberly, Jaclyn Sanchez and husband Erving and Stephanie Gagliano and fiancéGerry Schmidt and six adored grandchildren, Marcelo, Victor, Josephine, Addison, Gemma and Angelina.
Family and friends may gather on Friday, September 9, 2022 in the McCriskin – Gustafson Home For Funerals, 2425 Plainfield Avenue, South Plainfield NJ 07080 from 4-8PM. A video tribute and funeral services will begin at 7:30PM.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Bill’s Memory to the American Cancer Society.
