Obituary of Jeffrey Adams

Please share a memory of Jeffrey to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

On Wednesday, October 12th, 2022, devoted brother, uncle and friend Jeffrey Adams passed away.  Jeff had been recovering from back surgery when, after two weeks, things took a horrible turn, ultimately leading to a trip to the emergency room, where he fought valiantly to stay alive.  Jeff lost that battle a little after 8 a.m.  He was a young 55 years old.

Jeff is survived by his brother Matt (Janine Purcaro) and his sister Valerie Weddermann (Joel Archer), nephews Trevor, Tower and Nate Adams, Aren and Colin Weddermann, nieces Johanna Adams, Allie Weddermann and his dearest and best friend, and traveling partner, John Min.

Jeff is predeceased by his parents, Mildred and Albert Adams, his brother John (sister-in-law Elba) and brother-in-law Bruce Weddermann.

Jeff was a devoted uncle, helping Matt raise his boys, doing whatever he was asked to do.  He was omnipresent in their lives, and although did not have children of his own, was a dad in just about every way.

Jeff was a gamer, to the chagrin of many, excelling at Texas Hold’em, Dungeons and Dragons, Apples to Apples and Scrabble (really Jeff, Xi is a word?).  He and John traveled to Costa Rica, Germany and throughout the United States, enjoying the riches the world had to offer.

Jeff was a loyal and incredibly reliable employee of the Home Depot on Route 202 in Bridgewater.  He was “essential”, not just during Covid, but for all 15 years he worked there, where he showed up every day with a smile, a “good morning” and a commitment to help customers.  He was a member of the Home Depot family, and he will be greatly missed by his colleagues.  Jeff also worked part-time driving for Lyft, where he made each passenger feel safe and welcome.  He served over 10 years in the New Jersey Army National Guard, as a Specialist in the 250th Signal Battalion.

Jeff left too soon, but those he touched will forever remember his incredible kindness, patience and love.

Please join us as we celebrate Jeff’s life at Middlesex Funeral Home, 528 Bound Brook Road, Middlesex, NJ 08846 on Monday, October 17, 2022 from 5pm-9pm.  A military service reflecting Jeff’s dedication to our country will be held at 7:00pm.

On Tuesday, October 18, 2022, family and friends are invited to gather to the funeral home from 8:30am until 9:00am.  A funeral mass will be held at Our Lady of Mount Virgin RC Church in Middlesex at 9:30am and burial will follow at Resurrection Burial Park in Piscataway, NJ.

Although flowers are welcomed, please consider a donation in Jeff’s name to American Legion Post #306 in Middlesex.
