Dennis and I were stated in McMurdo Station Antarctica from 2004-2005. Those were some exciting times. He was like me in the fact that you either loved Antarctica or you hated it. We both loved it down there. It was an amazing experience! May God rest your soul my friend!!

I met Dennis in 2007 on Sullivans Island, South Carolina. He was one of the most interesting, intellectual persons I had met in a very long time. I will miss our many conversations, even the controversial ones. Rest in peace dear friend. Soar high!

Dennis was a cherished friend on Facebook. He was a skilled writer. He had a unique way of expressing inconvenient truths. I never missed a post. They were always substantive, always worth reading. He was an intellectual. Someone who went to the core of complex issues. I will miss him. God Bless Him!!

I cried today! Dennis and I were football brothers / teammates so sorry to hear of his passing.
I haven’t seen or talked to Dennis since High School. Dennis and I were teammates for four years, Dennis made a lasting impression on me as a person.
Dennis wasn’t the biggest, strongest or fastest player, but he had a great attitude, work ethic, never complained and he loved the game. Unfortunately those attributes alone wont earn you playing time. I wasn’t sure Dennis would ever get to play in a game and often wondered why is he doing this. He may have put more effort into trying to be a better football player than anyone I had the chance to play with. I don’t remember him ever missing a practice or an off season workout. He wasn’t ever going to be recognized as one of the key players the team would need to be successful but the reality was Dennis was exactly that he was a great example for the entire team on what it takes to get the most of your abilities and How your actions and attitude effect those around you. Dennis was a team leader with the Drive of a champion.
I have often thought of Dennis Carey over the years I am a better person because of him and I will be forever thankful for him.
My prayers and thoughts are with all his family and friends

I was one of Dennis's Football Coaches at Cresskill HS, Cresskill NJ. I will always cherish my experiences with him during his high school days, he was very kind, bright and a great teammate. I lost touch with him until we connected on social media about a year ago, and he thanked me for the lessons he learned on the football field. However his spirit and dedication to his team, coaches and community will always leave a lasting impression on me and I am sure others who had the honor to know Dennis. My condolences to his family and friends - Bless You Dennis and Rest in Peace!
