

Obituary of Julia George
Julia George was a loving daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Surrounded by family, Julia passed away on January 14th, 2023 at the age of 93.
Julia was born on May 6th, 1929 in Ramallah, Palestine to her father, Rizik Ghanim, and mother, Myriam Hanna. While in Ramallah, she met her future husband Jiries, marrying on May, 13th 1955.
In Ramallah, she became a mother to 5 girls, Mary, Hala, Ghada, Norma, and Jeanette, before moving to New Jersey to have her 6th and final daughter, Lisa. Julia was blessed with 9 grandchildren, Jenny, Andrew, Nicole, Christina, Kristin, Jason, Julie, Brian, and Johnny, and 2 great-grandchildren, Adalin and Olivia.
No one spread more love in a lifetime than Julia. With a heart of gold and intellect beyond her years, she built a family on the morals of dignity, integrity, unwavering support, and most importantly love. Her husband, children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and family mourn her death.
We would love to celebrate her beautiful life with you during the wake and funeral. The wake will be held on Wednesday, January 18th, 2023 from 6-9 pm in the McCriskin-Gustafson Home For Funerals, 2425 Plainfield Ave. South Plainfield, NJ 07080.
The Funeral will be held on Thursday, January 19th, 2023 starting at 11 am at St. Stephen The Protomartyr Antiochian Orthodox Church, 609 Lane Ave, South Plainfield, NJ 07080.
Interment will follow at Hillside Cemetery, Scotch Plains, NJ.
It is at the request of the family that all guests attending the visitation and funeral service wear a mask.
