Damn it FB...we just talked that it was time to get together as soon as the weather got warm. When I didn't hear back from you from one of my obnoxious text messages, I knew something wasn't right.
Although we didn't get together as much as we should have, you truly were like a brother to me. I will so miss our FB text messages. I miss that booming laugh!
God's speed brother...watch over all of us, Lord knows we need it!

Q: How would you describe Phillip to someone who had never met them?
A: Trekkie—through and through!

Q: How did you meet Phillip?
A: I met Phil on his first day of school at the Von E. Mauger Middle school, sometime during the early spring of our 6th-grade year in 1975. After school that day, Phil was being bullied by one of our peers on the playground, and I intervened, yelling, "Leave Him Alone!" The funny thing is, I did not even know Phil's name at that point! This was very much out of character for me, but it worked. I think everyone on the playground was as surprised as I was by my outburst. But I had been down that road myself only a year and a half before, and I just did not want the "new kid torture" to start for the new guy in town.
The uncomfortable moment immediately prompted both of us. Together, Phil and I started walking away from the school post haste. We walked to his house on Starlit Drive, and along the way, we just kept talking and laughing. We became fast friends on that very day.

Well Phillip, you left us too soon. The Coopers - your aunt Carol, cousins Robert & Michelle as well as my Mom's sister Connie will miss you very much! We will miss your phone calls, your laughter, your messages and all of the memories we have of you. I have a picture of you with my Dad that has been in our living room for 18 years. I look at it frequently, more so now that I can't call you to just say "Phil Peery what's up". It hurts....
I wish we could have seen each other more often, but I am grateful that we had a great relationship. We are all extremely saddened by this and will be praying for you and will keep you with us always!
Thinking of you always.........
We all Love You Phllip!
Carol, Robert, Michelle and Connie

February has been a tough month. The loss of my brother Phillip has been devastating. I have known him his entire life. He was the cutest little boy. We were great friends growing up and as adults. When he got sick in 2013, I was his caregiver and I helped him through his heart transplant and 8 months later, his cornea transplant. We joined a bagpipe band together in 1996 and he was trying to help me learn to play the guitar. If I needed him for something, he did his best to help. If he needed something, he knew I was always there for him. He had a big laugh and a funny "theme song" that he was always humming. I will miss his spirit, his goofy sense of humor and his mischievous nature. I'm going to savor the good memories and I realize how lucky I was to have him as my brother.

To my big brother. I love you with all of my heart and soul. We have a special connection that not many brothers and sisters can say they have. You have always been my biggest supporter. Ever since I was a kid. Not sure I'd be me without your support and love. Your influence on Maggie is one that will be unmatched. She has so many of your traits. I will miss you and love you for the rest of my life. I am still in disbelief. If only i could have been there when you needed me. Hoping this is all a bad bad nightmare. I love you. Forever and always.
