Obituary of Zenaida Ronquillo
Piscataway, NJ – Zenaida Ronquillo, 86, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, February 15, 2023, at her home in Piscataway, surrounded by family.
Born in Laoag City, Philippines, Zenaida grew up in the Philippines living in Sampaloc, Manila, and Quezon City before moving to the United States in 1969. Here she resided in Jersey City, before settling in Piscataway in 1978.
Over the years, Zenaida has served her community as a nurse, training at San Juan de Dios College and eventually earning her BSN from Far Eastern University. Throughout her career, she has worked at Veterans Memorial Hospital in Quezon City, Philippines, Christ Hospital in Jersey City, and St. Peter’s University Hospital in New Brunswick.
Zenaida was a long-time parishioner of St. Frances Cabrini RC Church in Piscataway and an active member of the Greater Middlesex Santo Nino Prayer Group. She also enjoyed sewing, dancing, and tending to her beautiful garden.
Survived by her husband Teodoro, Zenaida leaves behind her children, Roy (Ailyn) Ronquillo, Rhina (John) David, Robert (Barbara) Ronquillo, and Randy (Kathryn) Ronquillo; Siblings Prosper (Michael) Baum, Ellie (Komol) Punjavilasluck; and grandchildren, Katarina and her husband Cody, Ryan, Dylan, Natasha, Nadia, Nico, Kieran, Riley and Owen, as well as a host of extended relatives and friends.
A visitation will be held at the Piscataway Funeral Home, 18 Stelton Road, Piscataway, NJ on Thursday, February 23, 2023, from 4 PM to 8 PM.
A funeral mass will be held at St. Frances Cabrini RC Church, 208 Bound Brook Road, Piscataway, NJ, on Friday, February 24, 2023, at 10 AM, family and friends are invited to gather at the funeral prior to mass beginning at 9 AM.
Burial will follow at Resurrection Burial Park, 899 E. Lincoln Avenue, Piscataway NJ.
In lieu of flowers, the family Ronquillo Family has asked that donations be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, in Zenaida’s name.
