Obituary of Gloria Pellegrino
Gloria Pellegrino, 80 passed away on Friday, February 24, 2023 at the Arden Courts in Easton, Pennsylvania. Born in Hillside, Mrs. Pellegrino grew up in Scotch Plains, briefly resided in Fanwood and was a resident of South Plainfield for 35 years before relocating to Pocono Lake, PA in 2000.
She worked as the Secretary to Chief Ryan of the Watchung Police Department and then as an executive secretary at Hoechst Celanese. As a result of her longtime dedication to the Police Department and her position, Gloria was inducted as an Honorary Member of the Watchung Police Department PBA Local 193. After leaving the Watchung Police Department, Gloria served on a 911 Emergency Services operator piloting program in South Plainfield becoming one of the first 911 Dispatchers in the Borough.
An avid traveler, Gloria particularly enjoyed vacationing in Antigua, visiting the Island twice a year for nearly 20 years.
Predeceased by her father Edwin, mother Mary and brother Edwin Jr, she is survived by her husband, Michael Sr. of Pocono Lake, PA; sons, Michael Jr. and his wife Jennifer formerly of South Plainfield and John and his wife Lisa of South Plainfield; sisters, Mary Crocco of Austin TX. and Alice Kyrioglou of Warren and grandchildren, Joseph and his wife Jenna who are expecting her first great grandchild in June of 2023, Jeffrey, Vincent and Ricky Pellegrino. Gloria is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, March 1, 2023 beginning at 3 pm followed by a 6pm funeral service in the McCriskin – Gustafson Home for Funerals 2425 Plainfield Ave. South Plainfield, NJ 07080. Cremation Services will take place privately.
