Obituary of Dr. Anthony R. Di Nardo
Dr. Anthony R. Di Nardo, DDS., 84, passed away on Monday, February 27, 2023 at The Valley Hospital in Ridgewood Village.
Born in Newark, New Jersey in 1938, Anthony grew up in Nutley, resided in Jersey City, and in Montgomery, Alabama for a short period before relocating back to New Jersey where he lived in Bound Brook prior to settling in South Plainfield in the early 1970’s.
In the early 1970’s Anthony founded his dental practice in South Plainfield; Dr. Anthony R. Di Nardo, DDS, General Dentistry. He served local residents as well as those in the surrounding communities for over three decades prior to his retirement in the mid 2000’s.
Anthony graduated from Rutgers University and Seton Hall University School of Dentistry. After university he joined the United States Air Force and served as a Captain of the Dental Corps. As a professional, he was passionate about providing quality dentistry to his patients.
Anthony loved to cook gourmet meals on the weekends and holidays and he even attended a workshop at the French Culinary Institute. He loved his NY Giants football and Yankees baseball, which he enjoyed watching with his son. As a lover of jazz he played trumpet and tenor saxophone through the years. Anthony also loved to draw and took classes to pursue art as hobby. He loved to go on long sightseeing road trips and travel overseas with his family on vacation.
He was a loving, kind, and generous husband, father, and grandfather.
He is predeceased by his wife Jane, who worked alongside Anthony as his Office Manager; daughter, Marie Elise “Lisi” Di Nardo and brother, John Di Nardo.
Surviving are his son, Paul Di Nardo and his wife Eva Farkas Di Nardo of NY, NY; brothers, Leonard Di Nardo of Livingston and Richard of Parsippany and grandchildren, Siena and Isabella Di Nardo.
Visitation will be held on Monday, March 6, 2023 beginning at 9:30am followed by an 11:30am funeral service in the McCriskin – Gustafson Home for Funerals 2425 Plainfield Ave. South Plainfield, NJ 07080.
Immediately following the funeral service, Dr. Anthony R. Di Nardo will be laid to rest in the Di Nardo family plot at Hillside Cemetery, Scotch Plains.
