Obituary of Jean A. Martino

Formerly of Dunellen, NJ – Jean (Bloyen) Martino, 82, passed away on March 13, 2023 at Morristown Medical Center in Morristown.  Born in New York to the late Louis and Anne (Moser) Bloyen, Jean was raised in the Bronx and settled in Dunellen where she raised her family.  After retirement, Jean spent the remainder of her years in Bridgewater.

Although Jean worked as an administrative assistant most of her life, her favorite passion in life was caring for her family; especially her grandchildren at her home daycare.  She was an avid Republican who was never afraid to share her opinions.

Jean enjoyed spending time with her family the most.   Watching her grandchildren grow brought her such joy.  Her favorite hobby was doing laundry but never could pass up a trip to Atlantic City.  She was always the life of the party and enjoyed a good White Russian while making people laugh.  Everyone that knew her always received straight advice and love and her strong and fierce personality was looked up to by her children and grandchildren.

Dearly missed, Jean is predeceased by her husband Joseph Martino, son-in-law Thomas Powell and sister-in-law Catherine Bertelli.

Jean leaves behind her daughter Janine Powell of Bridgewater, son Anthony Martino and his wife Stephanie of Summerville, SC and daughter Jodie Glossick of Mohrsville, PA.  She will be missed dearly by her grandchildren; Jacquelyn and Alessandro Salerno of East Hanover, NJ, Christopher Powell of Bridgewater, Samantha, Alexis, and AJ Martino of Summerville, SC and Jennifer and Kaitlyn Glossick of Mohrsville, PA.

A gathering celebrating Jean’s life will be held at Middlesex Funeral Home, 528 Bound Brook Road, Middlesex, NJ 08846 from 4:00pm until 7:00pm with concluding prayers at 6:30pm.
